If relocation to a hub is preferred, we’ll assist with the move. **Your mission** We are seeking a full-time Tech Lead to help us build Europe’s first securities API for financial institutions. You will lead a team responsible for scalable core services (webhooks, file sharing, etc.) that empower our domain teams. You will also support public-facing API documentation through governance and technical improvements. **The team’s mission** The Public API team designs, operates, and continuously improves the face of our API. We enable a secure, seamless, and scalable offering with reliable event delivery, file sharing, and robust documentation — empowering partners and clients to integrate confidently. **This role gives you the opportunity to:** * Lead efforts to optimize event delivery (e.g., webhooks, streaming) to guarantee reliable data flow. * Support secure data sharing processes with partners and clients, ensuring confidentiality and compliance. * Define and enforce API governance practices for consistency, security, and compliance. * Drive discovery and design of cross-cutting core services improving the platform. * Work with stakeholders across Engineering, Product, and Customer Support to ensure quality. * Deliver iteratively with agile methods, retrospectives, and demos every two weeks. **What you’ll bring** * Ability to connect strategic “why” with engineering solutions, suggesting tradeoffs and improvements. * Experience leading and growing engineering teams in technical leadership roles. * Experience with message brokers (Kafka preferred). * Proficiency in Go, or strong motivation to learn. * Strong work ethic, pragmatism, and ownership mindset. * Experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL). * Practical knowledge of Docker and CI/CD. * Security-first mindset, eagerness to learn, and ability to thrive in a dynamic startup. **Nice to have** * Brokerage domain experience. * Background in API-first applications. * Experience building event-driven, distributed microservices. **Why Upvest?** We are solving one of Europe’s hardest problems: modernizing securities infrastructure so more people can invest.
